Did I make a mistake?

I wanted to say to everyone I know including my family that I'm sorry. I'm sorry I haven't been able to succeed like you expected. It was my hope by now that I'd be working again and actually doing something with my life. Instead I find myself in massive debt barely holding on and on the verge of a total financial collapse.

Did I make the right choices? No looking back now I didn't. Should I have gotten a degree that would be worth something? Yeah I should have. I didn't do what was in the best investment for the long term. It was my mistake and now I'm paying the price for it.

It's my hope that by saying this out loud others will learn from my mistakes and do better then I did.

Once again I'm sorry to my family, friends, and my girlfriend Marlee. I know you all expected more from me and I have failed you.

I need to now step back and evaluate my life and see what to do next.

Welcome to 2015!

Hello everyone it's me Christian! I know I haven't said much recently what with the holidays and all but now I figured it was time to check in. Since the last time I blogged a lot has changed at my home. For starters I'm moving to another room in the house, unfortunately it's due to the recent passing of my uncle. He passed away on Christmas morning, from complications related to a stroke and an infection in his heart. For the last year and a half he had been fighting cancer which at this point was in his bones. Doctors never thought he'd live as long as he did and for that we are grateful. In the end the infection is what killed him due his weakened immune system from all the cancer treatments. He passed away peacefully on Christmas morning.

Happy Birthday to Chatham's Train Station

On June 14th the Chatham Historical Society put together a bunch of events to celebrate the train stations centennial. One of the highlights was the railway museum inside the eastbound station. Comprised of 100 artifacts from the private collection of my father, it was well received by the public, committee officials, local politicians, and even the executive director of NJ Transit. Throughout the day we had people telling us how much they loved the little museum. Most were amazed to find out that this was only a small portion of my fathers collection. One aspect of this exhibit that made me proud was the fact that for the first time my father had an opportunity to show off items that he has collected over the last 40 years on a grand scale. The museum was his and everyone on the centennial committee couldn't stop thanking him. It was a long day for him, my girlfriend, and myself. By the time the day was over we were all exhausted but it was worth it to bring a little piece of railroad history to the citizens of Chatham. Below are some pictures highlighting the exhibit we set up that day.

Keeping busy having fun and loving it all

Well I told you I would write something else today and here it is. As many of you may have noticed I haven't posted since March. To be honest I haven't had motivation to do it recently. Between working at my new job and just being busy in general I haven't had time to write.

Enjoying the sun

Hello everyone! It's me Christian. You know Christian the guy who was going to blog all the time. Yeah I know I haven't talked to you since March but life and work got in the way. To make up for it here are some pictures from this past weekend. Marlee and I took advantage of the warm weather to enjoy the sun.
Later on today I'll give a full update on everything going on in my life.

First Photo Shoot of 2014

With the weather being so unpredictable and most of the time downright awful there hasn't been a good chance to take pictures recently. That changed this past Saturday, when Marlee and myself had some time to take pictures before dinner at my house. We just walked around the outside of my house for a little while taking pictures and having fun. I decided to edit all of the pictures this time using Snapseed on my iPad. They look amazing and having the ability to fine tune images with just my fingers is amazing. So enjoy this recent pictures from the first of I hope many photo shoots this year.

Best pizza in the whole world

Last night, for the first time in a long time my mother made pizza. Her pizza is the best pizza I have ever eaten and I have several people who will agree with me. She used to make it every Friday when we were growing up but after I went to college and she started working more that stopped. Mom makes the dough from scratch and creates pizzas that are out of this world.

Yesterday she made 4 pies including, plain, pepperoni, cheese fry, and pesto with ricotta cheese and fresh tomatoes. I myself prefer the classics so I only eat the plain and pepperoni but what she creates with the special pies is amazing. Particularly the pesto pie, according to Marlee it tasted amazing and was so delicious. I remember growing up and having homemade pizza every Friday, it was one of the highlights of the week for me because it meant good pizza, maybe watch a movie with the family, it was a good way to start the weekend.

When I was in school, I used to invite friends over to eat my moms pizza, I considered it a special right if you were invited to eat it. Like a secret moms' pizza club. In my mind if you were invited to enjoy her pizza it meant I saw you as a good friend. Not many people get to enjoy her pizza but the ones who do universally agree it's amazing. The one comment I get all the time from people who eat it is,"wow there is cheese in the crust!" it's like the one thing everyone loves. Mom started putting cheese in the crust a long time ago because we asked about it and to this day she still does it.

I always seem to take for granted the fact that my mother cooks for us all the time. A lot of people I know are lucky to get a couple home cooked meals a week. It's something that I grew up with and to me it's something I will miss when I eventually move. If anything it makes me want to learn how to make my own pizza as well as lots of other dishes. I can't rely on her to make dinner forever so I better start learning how to cook now.

One of the dinners Marlee and I have made
Luckily since dating Marlee the two of us have been learning to cook. It's a fun experience to learn with someone who is at the same level as me. We make a couple basic dishes and are always trying new things. It's a great way to learn as well as a great way to spend time together. Nothing is more fun then cooking a nice dinner with her.

Learning to cook is an essential life skill and one that I hope to master. I can't imagine not cooking, it's fun and cooking a meal yourself makes it taste that much better. Maybe one day I'll make pizza from scratch for my mother and let her enjoy it completely like I do every time she makes it.

The mid-week in review: February 6th 2014

We are only in the first week of February and we have already had two major snows and another one could be here over the weekend. It seems like this winter will not be staying quiet at all. When I was little I loved snow because it meant no school but now, I hate snow. I think the moment you have to drive anywhere because you have to no matter what the weather is you hate snow. It becomes your mortal enemy, and you can't beat it no matter what. Unless you live in a desert or the west coast where they don't get snow.

So overall this week has been filled with snow, snow, snow, nothing but snow. When will it end who knows? What I do know is I look forward to spring and summer a lot right now. But besides snow not a lot has been happening this week, most likely because the snow has slowed everything down. There is nothing wrong with a slow week, it's given me a chance to relax and binge watch Parks And Recreation on Netflix. Which by the way is a hilarious show, I have to say thank you to Marlee for turning me onto it recently. Speaking of Marlee she wrote an awesome post yesterday about her amazing time at Late Night with Jimmy Fallon. It's worth reading just for all the emotions and fun she had that day.

Hopefully, this time next week there will be less snow on the ground but I'm not holding my breath. Till then think warm thoughts my friends!

Finding that missing piece

Goofing around with my love
Finding that one person who is the missing piece of your life is difficult. Many never find that one person, they either settle for something close to perfect or they wander around looking forever. It's been a long time since I have talked about Marlee and the importance of her love in my life. She is that piece I have been looking for. The one person who knows everything about me and what makes me tick. I'm not one to talk a lot about my personal life or myself in general. Anyone who has been friends with me for a long time can tell you it takes a lot for me to open up. It takes a lot for me to express my feelings and thoughts to anyone in person. That comes from years of being picked on and belittled in school, it broke me in many ways. It's only been in the last few years that I have finally started to gain back what was taken from me. Having a group of good friends and blogging more has helped me express myself more then ever before.

2013: The Year in Review

Since we are in the last weekend of 2013 I figured I'd do a recap of the past year of my life. 2013 was a interesting year to say the least. For me it was filled with some very high moments as well as some very low points. If I were to give an overall view of 2013 I would say it was a year that saw a lot happen that never had happened before.

Quick Cross Promotion 'Girl Meets Mars' is live!

This week I launched a website for Marlee's podcast 'Girl Meets Mars' it's a comedy show about anything and everything that she hosts with her friends. All the old episodes are online and new ones will be coming shortly. This is a new website project for me that finally came together in the last couple days and the results so far have been fantastic. By hosting all the episodes on our own site we have eliminated unnecessary monthly expenses on a podcast hosting site. The site is still in its early days but I see a bright future for it. Check it out and see for yourself!

New York Comic Con 2013

This year I went to New York Comic Con with Marlee, I've wanted to go for years but never had a chance. It was amazing and so much fun, by the end of the weekend I was tired and exhausted but I would go again in a heartbeat. Over the course of the couple days I went I meet some amazing people and had a lot of fun with my girlfriend.

Backyard Modeling

To start off this new blog I figured why not show off some recent pictures I took of my girlfriend in her backyard. She recently purchased a new dress that she wanted to show off on her blog so on Saturday afternoon we took a bunch of pictures. As you can see her outfit looks amazing and the weather though overcast was perfect for taking pictures. It had been a while since I last took pictures of her and not to be biased but she looks amazing.

I'm looking to upload all the older photo shoots I have of her over the next couple of weeks. Also if you if you want to see her blog check it out. It's worth a read.
